Let’s Talk about Milk and Monkeys…..

If you are a boy mom, you have monkeys. If you are a boy mom you know boys LOVE to make messes. Meet my boys.

Sweet Boy
Sweet Boy

Sweet Boy, who loves to explore and get into mischief. His curiosity and fearlessness is masked only by his sweet little innocent face. He is fast and determined. He has a temper too. He is my lead monkey  climber. Just this week he has successfully scaled the side of the steps trying to figure out a way around that darn baby gate.

This resulted in him losing front hall privileges and meaning that now I have a gate to step over when I need to go pee, do laundry, go to the office, go upstairs, you get the point. You would be surprised just how many times you can hit your knee on a baby gate that you know is there…… Anyways let’s talk about the other monkey son that loves to run like the wind and talk a lot too.

Brusier

Meet Bruiser aka Bam Bam aka Wild Child. He will be the reason the ER staff know me on a first name basis. He doesn’t care anything about watching where he is going, he just wants to run and get there. FAST. He is a bull in a china shop, but every now and then he comes running straight to me and gives me the best hugs before he runs off to stomp over all those toys he just dumped out.Bruiser isn’t usually the one to try things first. He is too busy running to think, but whoa, when he sees his brother doing something dangerous and cool, he is sure to follow. See, monkeys….

Going places

The boys decided that since I took away half the house from their perimeter that they should look into ways to expand their boundaries. The couldn’t go out, so they went up.

Up on the changing tables to read some library books, ironically, it was the Super Nanny book I busted them with. They must have been trying to figure out ways to out smart me before I tried to out smart them… Twins, always working together to make life interesting.

Next on their climb or die adventure, the sofa table to get some keys…. Mind you I have already had to move all my pretty things and useful things (such a remote for the TV…) across the room because they had been getting into everything back there for weeks. Well It being empty must have been the light in Sweet Boy’s mind as he bravely climbed up and started dancing, walking, jump on that 8 in wide sofa table…. I tell you I can’t have anything nice…

This lead to me having to sit on the couch and guard the table. Yep, super productive time spent right there making sure those crazy monkeys didn’t climb and die….. It’s a good thing they are so cute and they love their momma. Of course me sitting there would lead Sweet Boy to thinking of new heights to take his skill to. He proceeded to climb on our leather chair. All the way to the top. He didn’t stop there though, he sidestepped over to the top of his plastic kitchen, be well, he wanted to see what the view was like up there. Let me tell you, he was quite proud of his accomplishment. I think he wanted a trophy.

Monkey up High

That was the last straw and how my boys got banned from the living room, leaving their only option for playtime being the kitchen, which is baby (and twin boy) proofed for the moment…… Oh, the milk! I totally forgot about ALL THAT MILK, no cookies. The boys have learned how to milk a bottle to send milk squirting across the room. They think it’s the greatest thing ever. I think, I’m never going to have nice things… {SIGH}
