It’s Fall Y’all! Time to Break Out the Pumpkins and Put Them EVERYWHERE!!!
I think I might have a problem. It involves pumpkins. I love to eat them, see them, decorate them, and smell them. I think I might have went a little pumpkin crazy this year, because I don’t know about you and your stores, but my stores have had some GORGEOUS pumpkins this year. I have picked up one or four each trip out. They have been reasonably priced, so why not, they will be used for years to come. My favorite stores for finding pumpkins are Hobby Lobby and TJ Maxx (the HomesGood store section actually ) I have them scattered through out the first floor of my house. Why, you say don’t I put some upstairs?!?! Well you see….. I spend 15 hours or more downstairs, only going upstairs to get laundry, put kids to bed, take showers, and to sleep, so I wouldn’t get to enjoy them much up there. I don’t let our twins play in their bedroom. Why you ask?!?! Because that is where they sleep. They know they sleep there, and they know that is ALL they do there, so it makes my life much easier to keep them on a routine (Not a schedule, schedules are bad). I don’t let them play in their beds, I take them up when they are first showing signs of being sleepy and it works 97% of the time when I put them down. I plan on writing a whole sleep training post one day, but I digress. Alena also does’t play much in her room since 90% of her toys are in the sunroom. So that’s the long winded explanation of why I don’t spread my pumpkin love upstairs. Maybe one day when I’m the lady with 1500 pumpkins, I will HAVE to put some up there, but for now downstairs is my pumpkin patch.
Ready for MORE pumpkins and less talking?!?!
Welcome! I’m so glad you came! Since I don’t have a massive porch of my dreams yet, I make do with what I do have without going all overboard crazy. Since we are military, it’s going to be YEARS before we live anywhere more than 3 years, so it doesn’t make sense for us to throw a bunch of money at things I want for my forever home on our right now homes.
Anyways….. I went to lowes to the other day to get 3 mums. Why just 3, well I hadn’t committed to what I was going to do with the craft pumpkins I got at Walmart so I just wanted to start small and build. I had made the family name pumpkin since I had been dying for one since I saw one(or 400+) on Pinterest. As soon as I walked into the garden section of Lowe’s, they had the cutest white “pie” pumpkins for 2.98. WHAT?!?!? Take my money! I showed restraint by only getting 4. I don’t know what handsome hubby would have said if he came home and I had bought all 20 of them…… I’m sure I could have thought of something classy to do with all of them. If they wouldn’t rot after 2 months or so of being outside and I could keep them forever I might have done it…. #guiltydontcare #pumpkinhorder
I had already put up some lights, bats and a fake spider to put a little creepy out for Halloween. That’s about as much creepy as you are going to get from me, I like the pretty stuff WAY more. I have maybe 4 more pieces of spooky decor scattered throughout the house for Alena. I’d rather decorate with pumpkins.
My awesome friend and sister Lacey made us this cute pumpkin last year, It makes me smile every time I see it at my front door. She is so crafty it crazy. Check out her out on Facebook store here for all things embroidery, vinyl shirts, and other vinyl decals. My mom found us the solar owl. It looks great and spooky at Halloween.
Moving inside, my front hall is a little boring. Why?!?! Those little boys are the reason why. They have hands, and will grab and break anything they can reach. So I’m stuck for now with keeping my precious pretty things up high and out of reach. It’s about time I change out the printable to a Halloween one. Come back in a week or so and I’m sure I will have one up. Or you can use my cute subway art one from last year by clicking here.
Last weekend we went to Pumpkin Palooza for some Fall Farm fun and Alena picked out a pumpkin. We haven’t decided what to do with it just yet, but she likes to keep it next to her bucket on the stairs. The boys have discovered it there when they go to the door in the mornings to watch her get on the bus…..Bruiser just wanted to give it some love <HUGS>
We have a half bath right when you walk in on the right. I found a pumpkin soap dispenser and added a few glitter pumpkins in there to make guests happy without cramming too much pumpkin in such a small space.
In the dining room I haven’t quite decided what to do with all my pumpkins and gourds yet. I’m still looking for a navy table runner, and well those boys go nuts when they are eating and things are on the table so I need to think of something that I can set up and move from the table to the cabinets quickly for meal times. Do you have any suggestions? Shoot me an email, or leave me a comment! Help me please!!!
I have a small side table in the dining room that I set up this woodsy pumpkin vignette. I LOVE having different types of pumpkins and elements through out the house so I don’t get bored and all matchy matchy. The silver one even has cinnamon in it so it makes the room smell great. Turns out Bruiser loves that smell too.
On our breakfast table I have a simple cylinder vase of sparkly pumpkins, because really, what is there not to love about glitter and pumpkins. Well, I only love the glitter that is the non messy kind. I do not like the loose get on everything glitter. Nope Nope, don’t like it at all. I have made small white vignette in the corner of the kitchen, but I don’t know where I’m going to keep it once handsome hubby comes home because it is sitting on one of our cutting boards, which he uses both pretty regularly and I know he will not be happy with having pretty stuff on his useful stuff.. Men. lol.
We have a sous vide machine that cooks our meat to the perfect temp every single time, but it looks really janky, so I have covered it with fabric put a white dish out and added a pumpkin to keep in theme.
So remember how my mantel looked when I first started getting the It’s Almost Fall fever? Here it is to refresh your memory… It had good bones, and there wasn’t much to add to it to make it perfect for me, but I have found the banner and pumpkins it needed!!!!
See that new turquoise one?!?! Isn’t it gorgeous. I LOVE turquoise and orange next to each other. It makes my heart happy. I’m going to cut out either Happy Fall, or maybe something to do with Alena’s slumber party to put on top of the flag banner, until I decide it will be just fine the way it is. I have one shelf left that I get to decorate, though it is becoming a safety issue if those boys don’t stop climbing on the back of the leather chair that is under it and trying to reach up and grab stuff off of it…. I can’t have anything nice under 6′ high around here…….
Whoa, that glass blown pumpkin and blue candle stick. Makes me smile every. single. time. I’m glad I put out my fall early and will get to enjoy my pumpkin patch until Black Friday. Because while most people are out shopping, I’m going to be getting my Christmas out and decorating!!!! EKKKKK!!!! I just love Christmas decorating too!!!
Do you have some awesome gorgeous pumpkins at your house you love? Send them to me and I will put them on the page! Let’s all show our Pumpkin love!!!
